Privacy policy

Last updated 9 October 2026.

Home Appliances (homeappliances.au) is owned and operated by Pacific Fund. This policy explains what information we handle and why. In short: the fridge finder keeps what you enter on your device, we use Google Analytics to count visits and finder steps, and we use contact-form details only to reply.

What stays on your device

Your measurements, answers, shortlist, electricity rate and any prices you type are saved in your browser’s local storage so the finder remembers them. They are not sent to us. They stay until you clear them: use the button below, or clear this site’s data in your browser settings.

Analytics

On www.homeappliances.au we use Google Analytics 4 to understand how the site is used: which pages are visited, and a fixed set of finder events such as starting the finder, reaching results, the number of results in each group, comparing models, and which retailer link was used. Events can include the catalogue identifier of a model you open or save.

We do not send your measurements, the model numbers you type into the search, anything you write, prices you enter or your contact details. Google Signals and advertising personalisation are turned off. Google Analytics sets cookies (named _ga and similar) and Google processes the data, including outside Australia; see Google’s privacy policy.

If you are outside the UK and the EU/EEA, Google Analytics loads automatically, without a consent prompt. If you are in the UK or the EU/EEA, we ask first: a banner offers Allow or Decline, and Google Analytics does not load unless you choose Allow. We work out which applies from your browser’s time-zone setting; this is checked in your browser and nothing is sent to us. As a backstop, Google Consent Mode also keeps analytics storage off by default for visitors whose internet address Google places in the UK or the EU/EEA.

Wherever you are, you can change your choice at any time with the switch below (also reached from “Analytics settings” at the foot of every page). Turning analytics off is remembered on this device.

You can also use Google’s opt-out browser add-on, or block cookies in your browser; the site works the same either way.

Contact form

When you use the contact form we receive your name, email address, topic, any model number and your message by email. We use them only to reply and to fix anything you report, and we keep them only as long as needed for that. To limit abuse, the form keeps a short-lived record of recent attempts linked to a one-way hash of your internet address, not the address itself; these records are deleted within a day.

Server logs

Like most websites, our hosting provider keeps standard server logs (such as internet address, browser type and pages requested) for security and troubleshooting.

What we don’t do

Your choices and requests

You can ask what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or make a complaint, using the contact form with the topic “A privacy request”. We aim to handle personal information consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles. If you’re not satisfied with our response you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.

Changes

We’ll update this page if what we collect changes, and before we add features such as accounts or photo uploads.
